CM KLING HISTORY:
The Wortham Center is a 437,500 SF performing arts center opened in 1987. It’s home to the Houston Ballet and the Houston Grand Opera.

The Brown Theatre seats 2,405 with a 17,000 SF stage and the smaller Cullen Theatre hosts smaller productions with 1,100 seats. Both theatres feature a custom lighting fixture designed by Candy Kling in collaboration with the manufacturer to create a surface-mounted uplight that creates playful effects with the use of prisms.

The grand staircase – a bank of escalators – is surrounded by a site specific illuminated installation by sculptor Albert Paley.

The Green Room features a vintage chandelier from the Helen Hayes Theatre.
