Chef Pepe Moncayo’s first solo restaurant features a Spanish Catalan and Japanese fusion menu. The architect’s vision is inspired by “the compositional beauty and color of Pepe’s culinary creations.”

Origami “paper folds” provide general illumination in the dining room. Lighting incorporated into architectural coves and millwork produces glowing elements, silhouettes, and enhanced textures. Dozens of crystal cranes sparkle under discrete flood lights over the bar.

Some of the details we love: The corridor to the bathroom is a slatted wall with tiny integrated uplights for a visual rhythm. The origami “paper
folds” are grazed dramatically to create strong highlights, lowlights, and deep shadows.
